Move It TN hires only the most professional, high-integrity, hard-working individuals we can find for our moving company. Many other companies simply post a job on Indeed and contract out the first people they can find. To be fair, this industry is a revolving door for turnover, which means that staffing is a constant need for everyone.
What we do that is different is quite simple: we only hire people we know.
Our moving team is comprised of students, mostly varsity college athletes, who Dr Stroop has taught. Trust me when I say: we do not hire everyone who asks for a job. We only hire people that we know will work hard, care, has integrity, and vibes with the team and customers. We also accept referrals from people that we trust.
This takes more time. It takes more effort. It causes our leadership team bottlenecks that we wouldn’t have if we just threw a post up on Indeed.
But it’s worth it.
We expect the gold standard when it comes to our moving services, so our customers can trust that they, and their things, will be taken care of in a timely manner. The only reason we can do that is from hiring outstanding, trustworthy folks on our team.

To be honest, things do happen. Sometimes, stuff breaks when you move them! But, this usually happens when movers cut corners or exhaust themselves. Which is why we (1) have a manager oversee every job, (2) bring extra movers, to preserve energy, reducing mistakes, and (3) have a great insurance policy!
They changed the price on me after they got on the job
Can you imagine, someone getting to your house the day of a move, and with all the stress you have to deal with, someone charging hidden fees or threatening to leave? What else are you going to do on the day of the move except pay these scoundrels?
That’s why we charge hourly. No hidden fees. Just hourly. If it takes us longer to climb stairs, do a long walk, move appliances, or whatever — it’s baked into the hourly fee structure. No hidden fees, because we are transparent, honest, trustworthy movers.

Moving can take a long time. That’s for true. But we try to set a Best Case - Worst Case range when we quote your move on the phone, so your expectations are in the right place. We also bring extra guys to reduce exhausting and rotate breaks.
